This Privacy Policy applies to the Gretel mobile application developed by Dan Morgan Designs ("the App"). It explains how information is handled when you use this app.
Information Collection
The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to Dan Morgan Designs or third-party services. There are no user accounts, logins with our services, analytics, or tracking of any kind. The App operates primarily on your device and uses Apple's CloudKit service only for data synchronization across your own devices.
Data Storage and Transmission
Trail data, GPS coordinates, photos, and other content you create in the App are stored locally on your device and synchronized to your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit service. This data remains private to you and is encrypted both in transit and at rest using Apple's security protocols. Dan Morgan Designs does not have access to this data stored in your iCloud account.
No personal or device data is transmitted to external servers owned or operated by Dan Morgan Designs.
Apple CloudKit Integration
The App uses Apple's CloudKit service to synchronize your trail data across devices signed into the same Apple ID. This includes:
- Trail routes and waypoints
- Photos and media attachments
- Custom trail annotations and notes
- App preferences and settings
This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. Apple provides industry-standard encryption and security for this data. You can manage or delete this data through your device's iCloud settings.
Third-Party Services
Beyond Apple's CloudKit service for data synchronization, the App does not integrate with or depend on any third-party analytics, advertising, or social media platforms. It does not use cookies or local storage to track user behavior.
Children's Privacy
The App is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any personal data from children under 13 years of age. Any data stored through CloudKit is managed by the child's Apple ID and iCloud account, subject to Apple's family sharing and parental control features.

Any future updates to this policy will be posted on this page. Material changes will be noted with an updated "Last updated" date.
